Meet the 5 o’clock worker
Sharon has been involved in ministry and teaching the Bible for over 40 years to various demographics and gatherings, from discipleship groups to national women’s conferences. Sharon has had multiple opportunities to serve and lead, including Director of Sunday School, Co-chair of the Personnel Committee, Discipleship Groups, Missions Coordinator, Weekend Service Praise Team Member, and simultaneously taught a bible study during those seasons.
As a daughter of a church planter, she has also been involved in inner-city missions, has participated in several mission trips to Migrant camps, and currently volunteers at her church with ESL and in her community. In all her years of serving, she always maintained her conviction and call the Lord placed on her life to teach the Bible. In 2020, Sharon followed where the Lord called her, and the 5 o’clock worker blog and ministry were established.
During a season of great loss and change, she dug deep into the Bible and prayed to anchor her soul. It was through a revelation from the parable of the 5 o’clock worker found in Matthew 20 that took her life in a new direction. The Lord revealed she had everything she needed to be sustained in her challenges. She considers herself a “late arriver” in applying biblical truth to problem-solving and transforming into an overcomer. From that experience, God called Sharon to write, share His love and teach His truth. Specifically, a relationship with Christ and trusting His word will hold us up even in the hardest of times. The Word of God is the Way Through.
She has been married to Jim for 43 years and has two children, Ricardo and Erin, and a son-in-law Dony and a host of sons and daughters from around the world who call her mom. After retiring from practicing physical therapy, she spends most of her time swimming, attending the local Zumba classes, reading, writing, or working in her yard. Her three trusty canine companions, Riley and Cleo and Auggie, are always in the vicinity.
You are invited to come join us and discover the loving grace of Jesus that offers relationship, victory, joy, and hope to face today’s challenges.
